For most of you who don't know what gcc-patches means: gcc stands for the GNU Compiler Collection, and gcc-patches@gcc.gnu.org is a mailing list where the code changes to the GCC are sent and discussed. Naturally for an open source project, the list is open to everybody. So, in some sense, the spam is not only funny but also correct :)
